NYCC: Grant Morrison: Talking With Gods Documentary Screening
Hi Gotham,
MTV posted an article Wednesday morning about Halo-8 picking up the distribution rights for documentary Grant Morrison: Talking With Gods. The documentary focuses on Grant Morrison's unique take on story telling and features many comic writers including Mark Waid and others.
Grant Morrison is currently heading up the Bat-verse, but has many other legendary comic works under his belt including All Star Superman, which is discussed in the clip below.
The documentary is scheduled to debut at this year's New York Comic Con, and I am really looking forward to it!
Batman: Odyssey Preview-Thoughts
Good morning again, Gotham,
On Wednesday morning, DC's The Source Blog posted some more preview pages from this week's comics, but this time it was from Neal Adams' Batman: Odyssey #1 (of 6). So, if you want to check out those previews, just head over there.
Now.. again, this is like First Wave problem, when I first saw these previews a while ago with no dialog, I figured that there was no way this is Bruce Wayne in this Batsuit because Batman does not use guns. At all. It's against his nature because his parents' lives were taken with a gun. So, of course I thought this was going to be some sort of impostor at the very least, and that would set up the storyline for this mini-series.
Neal Adams is so well versed in the Gotham mythos, that I have no doubt that this series is going to be nothing less than excellent, but it is always bizarre to me seeing Batman holding a gun, it just isn't right. Unless this is the start of his career, which it clearly is, and Adams is actually pulling from the Golden Age, which most wouldn't do, I don't know what to think, especially with this coming from one of the most well respected names in Batman's history of creators.
So, again, I have no doubt that this mini-series will be fantastic, but I don't think any of us like to see Batman toting a gun, and I hope this isn't a trend, but with First Wave and now Odyssey, that's not looking promising.

Batman & Robin #13 Preview
Good morning Gotham,
Alex Segura over at The Source posted some preview pages from Batman & Robin #13 on Tuesday, and let me tell you, it has me excited!
Frazer Irving's art is looking fantastic, in my opinion, and there are already some major twists happening in the book. It looks like the story is going to continue off of Return of Bruce Wayne #3, and these preview pages show us a little backstory about how the Joker became Oberon Sexton.
So check out a couple of the covers below, head over to The Source for the rest, and make sure to come back Thursday for our complete review of this and every other book that Gotham City has to offer us!
P.S. That Frank Quitely cover is sweeeeeeet!!! Note the crowbar being used on The Joker.

Let's Hear Those Voices!!
Over the months, we've been teased with some images and behind the scenes footage of Batman: Under the Red Hood. Now, thanks to Amazon.com (bless 'em), not only do we get a clip, we get to hear Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy from Harry Potter) fame and John Di Maggio (Bender from Futurama) in their respective roles as Ra's Al Ghul and the Joker!!
After viewing the clip, I'm especially happy with Di-Maggio's performance. It is very clearly his own style, but it's reminiscent enough of someone we all know and love ::ahem cough cough:: Mark Hamill. As far as Isaacs goes, you only hear one speak one line so it's hard to judge. Personally, however, I've been wanting to see Isaacs play Ras since before Batman Begins was cast so you'll hear no complaints from me. Click the Source link to find your way to the magic.
Pre-order it from Amazon now!
--EDITOR'S NOTE--
Make sure to get caught up on the Under the Hood Vol. 1 & 2 to get prepared for our special review this month, as well as our review of the Under the Red Hood Blu-ray!
From The Soundtracks: "Kiss From A Rose"-Seal
Batman movies have had an interesting relationship with popular music over the years. Chris Nolan's entrance in to Gotham City, Batman soundtracks have had a mix of some of the best and most bizarre musical selections for any films, let alone films featuring The Dark Knight.
Though this segment focuses mostly on the bizarre, I wanted to take tonight to post and discuss one of my favorite songs from any Batman soundtrack, "Kiss From A Rose" by Seal. I love this song with a fiery passion, but let's be honest.. in a Batman movie? It's definitely a weird choice, but the video and the song are both incredible.
Check out the Batman Forever version of this video below.

Birds of Prey: Original Opening
I don't remember watching Birds of Prey as it aired back in 2002, but over the Fourth of July weekend, I spent my time watching the show on DVD, and one of my main issues with the show was the hilarious opening sequence with the song "Remedy". There's nothing wrong with the song, it just made it seem like a really sensitive show that was about girls bonding as opposed to the ass-kicking-DC women show that it should have felt like.
Well, thanks to friend of the show, Bryan Q. Miller, I learned that this song wasn't the original series opener, and that there were clearance issues concerning the DVD release. And I've gotta say, the original series opener is so much better and appropriate for the show's feel, and it's a shame that we don't get what the creators intended.
Here is the original opening of the show, a song called "I'd Start a Revolution" by Aimee Allen
.
Also, something else that is left out of the DVD release is the finale fight scene set to "All The Things She Said" by t.A.T.u.
, so check out the original finale fight below.

Batman 3 Script Finished

According to the esteemed Mr. Christopher Nolan, via an interview with the Coventry Telegraph, the third Nolan-Batman movie script has been completed. Nolan himself has stated he keeps his mind firmly planted in one movie at a time, so until Inception is released on July 16th, don't expect too much Batman 3 news. He did however state he is very excited about the story he and his brother Jonathan have in stored. At this point in the Batman process, if Christopher Nolan says he's excited, we should all be excited too.
