Star Wars as Batman
Hey Gothamites,
Just wanted to drop by and let you guys in a piece of art found by our good friend, contributor, and podcast host Justin Vactor from DeezyFTW from Tumblr, and this is totally freaking awesome. Two worlds collide, and it's awesome.

Jack Bauer: Basically Batman
Have you ever watched a television show, or an action movie and thought that there's no way any of this can really happen? That the hero, or protagonist does things that are just completely out of the realm of reality?
I've recently had this issue when watching Fox's 24 and the main character, in particular, Jack Bauer. At first, I was under the impression that this character was along the lines of action heroes of my childhood, like Arnold Schwarzenegger's Terminator, Sylvester Stallone's John Rambo, or even the legendary James Bond. But honestly, what I found in the character of Jack Bauer was something more.
Jack Bauer is pretty much Batman.

Batmobile Monster Truck: YES!
Yes, you read that title right. Here's a video that I saw over at the Bat-Blog that features a Batmobile themed Monster Truck from a Monster Jam in El Paso from 2008.
Enjoy.
Enjoy.

Ame-Comi Statues: Friend of Foe?
Hey everybody,
On the most recent episode of the podcast, one of the items on the pull list was a set of miniature Ame-Comi figures from DC Direct that will be hitting stores this week. If you are unfamiliar with the Ame-Comi statues, they can basically be explained as an anime/manga representation of DC Heroes and villains in pvc statue format. There have been several in the past include Duela Dent, Harley Quinn, Catwoman, Batman, Robin, Zatanna, Black Canary, and several others, and this week they are releasing miniature versions of the popular line. The statues in question are pictured below.

Now, here's my deal.. I consider myself to be a huge fan of the anime/manga style, and honestly a fan of Japanese influenced style on America culture. I personally adore all sorts of vinyl action figures like Kid Robot and Tokidoki, and to have my favorite characters represented in this style seems like I would fall head over heels in love with these statues, and I do like them.
BUT..
Return of Bruce Wayne Hardcover Coming This Week
Hey guys,
I just wanted to drop by and remind you guys that Batman: The Return of Bruce Wayne Deluxe Edition Hardcover comes out this Wednesday, and if you'd like, you can go ahead and click on the image below, and preorder it from Amazon to guarantee that you get yourself a copy.
Obviously, I read this in single issues, but I clearly remember a lot of people hating it primarily due to the delays associated with the book, so the hardcover collection will take away all of those problems, and I for one think that reading it as a collected edition will be extremely beneficial since it will read seamlessly.
It retails for $29.99, but you can get it from Amazon for only $20.24! It's a great deal for the awesome 200+ page oversized format. So pick it up, I know I will.
Also, how can you go wrong with Pirate Batman?

A Wild User Poll Appears!
Hey Gothamites,
In addition to the site redesign and the return of the podcast, we also wanted to add in user polls! This week's poll is going to be a little ridiculous since we're just putting it in on Friday, but in the future, the poll we be a place where you can come in and vote on what your favorite Bat-books for the week were, and when we record the podcast on Sundays, we'll give you guys the results? Sound good?
Until then, use this time to make your assessments and come to your own conclusions, like Batman did in Batwoman #0!

Batman Out of Context: Site Redesign
Hey guys,
Just wanted to stop in and let you know of a little bit of an update we've started for the website. The way I figure it, we've been gone for a while but things are starting to turn back around for us, and what better way to address that than a blog post and a little help from Gotham's own Alfred Pennyworth?

February's Book of the Month: Hush
Hey Gothamites,
I just wanted to drop in and let you guys know that February's Book of the Month episode will be about Batman: Hush by Jeph Loeb and Jim Lee. Here's a description of the book, and if you don't already have a copy of the trade paperback, you can grab it by clicking the link above. It gets us a portion of the sale, and you get a great book to read for the same price as it would normally cost from Amazon, so that's the definition of a win/win.
February's episode will feature the awesome founder of Comics Period, Dominique Agri as the special guest, so I hope you'll enjoy it as much as we do!
