November Batman News

"Bruce Wayne be returning to a new set of Batman duds, but his first sidekick, Dick Grayson, will continue to fight crime on the streets of Gotham as Batman, and under the banner of 'Batman Inc.'"
As for the rest of the titles, Batman and Robin will continue the adventures of Dick and Damien, While Batman Inc., and Batman: Dark Knight will follow Bruce Wayne. Here's what editor Mike Marts had to say on the subject:
“Just as readers were getting comfortable with the idea of former sidekick Dick Grayson playing the role of Batman, along comes Bruce Wayne’s triumphant return to the Cape and Cowl. Is Gotham City ready for two Batmen? Is the world? And who’s to say the fun will end there?”

Batman & Robin #13 Preview
Good morning Gotham,
Alex Segura over at The Source posted some preview pages from Batman & Robin #13 on Tuesday, and let me tell you, it has me excited!
Frazer Irving's art is looking fantastic, in my opinion, and there are already some major twists happening in the book. It looks like the story is going to continue off of Return of Bruce Wayne #3, and these preview pages show us a little backstory about how the Joker became Oberon Sexton.
So check out a couple of the covers below, head over to The Source for the rest, and make sure to come back Thursday for our complete review of this and every other book that Gotham City has to offer us!
P.S. That Frank Quitely cover is sweeeeeeet!!! Note the crowbar being used on The Joker.

Catch Up: Grant Morrison
Hello Gothamites,
One of the new things we want to do for you is something we are calling "Gotham Catch Up" where we take a series or a writer's run on a book, and discuss as much as we can about it.
In the first installment, in honor of The Return of Bruce Wayne, we will be discussing Grant Morrison's epic run on Batman into the current run on Batman & Robin. Both Justin and I are reworking our way through the series, and we wanted to give you a heads up if you want to follow along. So, here's your head's up on the titles we will be discussing.
Batman: Black Casebook
Batman and Son
Batman: The Black Glove
Batman: R.I.P.
Final Crisis
Batman and Robin, Vol. 1: Batman Reborn
Batman and Robin Issues #7-12, which I believe you can find at Things From Another World
But if you aren't caught up, don't worry because that's what we are here for!
Be on the lookout for this episode later this month, we just wanted to give you fair warning.

DARK KNIGHT: BOY WONDER Wait, what?
News from Wondercon!
You may have already heard about this, I'm sure you did, but we tell you anyway, All Star Batman & Robin is DEAD! I know that might please and/or distress some of you out there, but wait! There's more! The creative team from All Star Batman and Robin (Frank Miller, Jim Lee) recently announced that they will be working on another project entitled Dark Knight: Boy Wonder.
This story is set to take place in the same universe as many of the other Miller Bat-Books such as Year One, Dark Knight Returns, and The Dark Knight Strikes Again (DKR2). This universe is both loved and hated equally, and All Star Batman & Robin is heavily criticized as an atrocity to the Gotham universe, but personally, as a fan of the Year One/DKR Universe, I am hopeful, if not optimistic about this comic.
Overall, Frank Miller hasn't been able to write to the same caliber recently as he has in his past days, and with projects such as The Spirit motion picture, I think it would be best to go in to this comic skeptical, but on the other hand, THE JIM LEE ART IS FANTASTIC!
Be on the look out for this book to appear in February in 2011, or don't. We won't be mad, we'll still cover it!

Gotham City: R. Kelly
I was just searching through amazon.com recently, and I stumbled across this fantastic little gem. The actual physical copy of R. Kelly's Gotham City! And if pictures are anything to go off of, it looks like we can pick up the elongated CD case! It's so early-mid 90's! WIN!
Awesome, right!? Right?!
