So, Tom Hardy as Bane, huh? Looks pretty cool to me. After seeing this, it will be hard for anyone to argue that Hardy doesn't have the look to pull of the man that broke The Bat. I, however, am disappointed with the lack of luchador in his look, and I honestly can't understand why they didn't go full mask with this, unless this is some sort of muzzle-type mask.


But honestly, the picture isn't the most exciting news here. To me, the most exciting part is how this was revealed. The promo picture of Tom Hardy as Bane from the upcoming The Dark Knight Rises was released to the public through viral marketing. If you tweeted the phrase "#thefirerises", your twitter avatar would go into the creation of the above picture, and if anyone remembers the viral marketing campaign from The Dark Knight, then you should know we have a lot more in store.

NYCC: DC Universe Panel

..and we're back! After an extended hiatus, the crew here at Gotham Central are getting up to date on all of the Batman books, returning from New York Comic Con, and bringing along a few treats with them.

There wasn't a lot of Batman news given at the con, but at the DC Universe panel, there were a few nice tidbits given on some of the upcoming storylines in the Batman books, and embedded after the jump are a few videos from the panel. We've got some great pics from the convention, but those are still to follow, but check out the videos for details about the future of Batman in DC Comics.

Puffy AmiYumi Comes to NYCC!! (sort of)

Rockin' Japanese pop group, Puffy AmiYumi comes to the Far East to East Showcase (FETES) which is put on in conjunction with New York Comic Con and the New York Anime Festival.

FETES takes places at Irving Plaza on Sunday, October 10, the day that NYCC comes to a close. So for anyone who is attending that likes the pop sound of the east, tickets are on sale for $22 in advance and $25 at the door.

If you are unfamiliar with Puffy AmiYumi, one thing that they have done may resonate with anyone who is a DC Animation fan. The theme song for the animated adventures of the Teen Titans.

Gotham Comes to New York!

Hey Gothamites,

In case you didn't already know, we are going to be at New York Comic Con! Both Justin and myself have gotten press passes, although it's just looking like I'm going to be there as of this moment. Also, site contributor, Tim, will be in attendance as well, so look for the Gotham Central Podcast to be all over New York Comic Con like butter on toast!

We definitely want to set some meet ups with you guys, so be on the lookout for get togethers that we schedule, and remember.. Batman the Brave and the Bold comes out shortly before NYCC, so some gaming might be in order!
